The two interviews indicate that a majority of employees working in financial institutions lack or possess inadequate skills to manage stress in their respective work environments. Time management and stress management are items that a majority of individuals indicated poor scores due to the inability to balance between various duties and responsibilities delegated to them by their managers or supervisors. There is a high level of work involvement due to the emphasis provided by the financial institutions to ensure quality work in terms of services provided to the clients.

In addition, the results illustrate a high level of competitiveness in the financial institutions among the employees. This is attributed to the need to gain favor and achieve nominations for new positions that may be present in the organization. Furthermore, this contributes to the high stress levels in the workplace that are manifested in the form of high levels of hostility amongst the workers in both work and non-work environments. Anger is also a form of stress manifestation. Impatience and a sense of urgency are also evident among workers in financial institutions as provided in the results of the surveys. They lack adequate strategies to ventilate and enhance mental activities away from their respective work environments.

Lack of verbal communication impedes the ability of workers to engage in problem solving. They are confined to their work schedules, which is evident by the high levels of work involvement as illustrated in the survey. The demand by management to meet certain expectations and scores in favor of customer service are some of the challenges that are experienced by a majority of employees in financial institutions. They hold the view that the remuneration provided does not reflect the high work involvement.
