Over the past several centuries, music has evolved to favor more genres and varieties over others. Discoveries of new methods of providing production have changed the way we listen to music today. New advancements are constantly being explored in the world of music to make original sounds. With technological advancements, music is being made with digital and electronic instruments such as the electronic drum kits, digital turntables, and electric guitars. With the decreased use of the television and radio, most of the music will be disseminated through the internet. This will serve to increase convenience among the consumers. There is an increased likelihood that in the next few decades more genres will be developed to provide entertainment to a vast demographic. These genres will be developed from adopted cultures, similar to how hip-hop music was derived from the culture of the African American youth during the late 1960s.

Live performances and music tours will be some of the key determinants of the prowess of musical artists. A rising culture of music festivals such as the Roskilde Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland Festival will become ingrained in the societies as they integrate digital technology with music production. Artists influence will be determined by their ability to not only produce quality music but also the unique styles they subsume while doing so. Many genres will also become integrated with one another in the process of evolution. This is evident to the manner in that hip-hop music was intertwined with rhythm and blues. Music will have an even greater influence on the day-to-day lives of people around the world, as they continue to embrace diverse cultures. People will continue to search for entertainment, inspiration, and encouragement. Therefore, music will continue to be a significant part of people’s lives in the future.
