The following are the features that differentiate lean organization from other organizations,

Lean organizations focus on creating customer value, which is seen as the path to a continued business success. They not only seek to understand customer’s requirements but also their expectations of product quality, price and delivery.

Another feature that differentiates them from other organizations is flexibility of the workforce. This means that they have the ability to react to changes in customer need.

Unlike other organizations, lean organizations value partnerships. Teams are seen as important assets in the organization because they form an absolute carve of the product from the idea of innovation to the release of the product.

It requires large investment especially when the factory decides to move from a convebtional to a more focused process,

 

Advanatages

Concentration and repetition in one area allows its managers and workforce to become experience and effective in the task required for success.

A focused factory is controllable and manageable despite the fcat that its prbklems arelomited in one scope.

A focused product has the ability to undersell and outproduce to quickly gain a competitive advantage over the compelx factory.

A focused factory is easy to manage as it strives for a narrow range of  customers, products and processes.
